The Malevolent is a student short film project as part of a module in the Film Production course at University Of Salford. The film had to be written, planned, filmed and edited all by one individual, myself, and had to have a full length of 5 minutes with a low budget of no more than £100 while using minimal equipment. This film was made around a personal topic theme, Overthinking.
The story follows an awkward and overthinking teenage boy named Alfie, who is set to go on a date with a girl named Grace. However, Alfie is burdened with this “Malevolent” that wont leave his side and is something only he can see, this is a visual representation for his overthinking.
